The Brooklyn Tabernacle is a multicultural, non-denominational church in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Tabernacle has a unique open door to minister to the cross-cultural melting pot of New York City.
God has brought The Brooklyn Tabernacle from a handful of members in a small rundown building in a difficult area, to a congregation of more than 10,000 weekly attendees. Pastor Cymbala and his wife Carol, who directs the popular Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, have been used by the Lord not only to preach the Gospel in the inner city of New York, but also to see new churches grow out of the congregation across New York, as well as domestically and internationally. The ministry of the Church has from the outset reached out to the cross-cultural melting pot of New York City. It is comprised of men, women, and children of all ethnic and national origins. However, central to the growth and expansion of the Church has been the continual emphasis on prayer, from the Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting that is attended by thousands to the Prayer Band, members of the Church devoted to boldly “calling on the Lord” for needs from around the world.

Pastor Cymbala and Carol often say that they are privileged to work alongside some of the greatest church volunteers in the world. Last Friday, we had a Volunteer Appreciation Night to thank these workers who represent over 40 ministries at The Brooklyn Tabernacle. More than 1,500 gathered together for an evening filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt words of appreciation from our staff and pastors. This Easter season, we were blessed to have four successful presentations of The Story of Love. We are so grateful for all the people who prayed with us, the cast and crew who gave 100% of themselves tirelessly to share the good news that Jesus conquered the grave and we have the victory in him. We thank God for everyone who invited friends or loved ones with whom we were able to share the gospel. We could not have done it without you, and for that we say thank you!

At the beginning of the new year, we embarked on the journey of reading Kingdoms as a church. As we recap what we have read over these past 2 weeks, from the books of Judges, Ruth and Samuel- Kings we want to have a conversation with you: 1. What stood out to you these past 2 weeks? 2. Was there anything confusing or troubling? 3. Did anything make you think differently about God? 4. How might this change the way we live?
